Kristy Elizabeth Boyer is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on how to support learning with natural language dialogue and intelligent systems. She is particularly interested in computer science education research and in investigating how machine learning can help us understand social, cognitive, and affective phenomena in human interactions. Boyer holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University, an M.S. in Applied Statistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Valdosta State University. She has been recognized with an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. She is also a founding and current member of the Executive Steering Committee of the STARS Alliance for Broadening Participation in Computing and is the Program Co-Chair of the 2014 International Conference on Intelligent Tutoring Systems.
